Barossa Valley Tourism & Travel
Barossa Valley Australia
Fifty wineries dot the Barossa and Eden Valleys in between historic buildings, galleries, cafes and restaurants, only 60 kilometres, 37.5 miles, from Adelaide.
Barossa Valley History
The wine region was first settled in 1842 with villages at Bethany, Tanunda, population 3499, Lyndoch, population 1137, and Lights Pass.
The German communities centred activity around their churches and today signs of German tradition can be seen in the buildings, churches and in the food, music and festivals in the region.
Barossa Valley Wineries
The landscape is filled with fields and fields of vineyards and green countryside.
Penfolds, Wolf Blass, Saltram, Pehmann, Grant Burge and Orlando are some of the more famous wineries that operate from the Barossa Valley.
