DAY 1 Fly to Broome

Broome is the western gateway to the spectacular Kimberley region. This historic pearling town sits on the western edge of the vast and remote Kimberley region and is the largest town in Australia's ruggedly beautiful north west. Broome exudes a laid back ambience, an outback oasis with white sand beaches, sensational Cable Beach and shimmering turquoise waters which contrast vividly with the red ochre pindan earth.

You will be personally met at the airport by a DISCOVER AUSTRALIA representative and transferred from the airport to your hotel. You can relax and use the rest of the day to explore your hotel and its facilities. Enjoy a leisurely evening to spend your own way.

DAY 2 Broome Town Tour

The perfect introduction to Broome, your half day tour of the township will take you to all of the major attractions and landmarks, including ancient rocky outcrops and the spectacular coastline. Hear about Broome’s heritage and how it shaped the town. Visit Chinatown, the Japanese Cemetery, Gantheaume Point and Cable Beach.

At the end of the tour, enjoy a Pearling Master’s high tea and a Pearl Luggers Tour. Combining the historical and cultural influences of Broome, you’ll enjoy tea, coffee or a glass of sparkling wine on arrival followed by sweet and savoury treats.

DAY 3 Cable Beach Camel Ride

Broome is a vibrant and cosmopolitan town with a proud pearling history, the town is blessed with a fantastic climate and an abundance of stunning natural beauty, a visit to the Japanese Cemetery where perished Japanese pearl divers are interred brings home the human cost of Broome's colourful pearling history, other attractions include Cable Beach, Matso's Brewery and bustling Chinatown.

Enjoy a day in Broome at your leisure to explore at your own pace before your spectacular Cable Beach Camel Ride at sunset.

DAY 4 Board Kimberly Quest II & Sail from Broome to Cape Leveque

Get picked up from your central Broome hotel and transferred to the Kimberley Quest II for the start of your 14 day cruise to Wyndham. This evening enjoy a drink and a magnificent sunset as you cruise past Cable Beach.

DAY 5 Buccaneer Archipelago, Dugong Bay & Talbot Bay

Enjoy a scrumptious breakfast and take in your first taste of the Kimberley as you cruise through the thousand islands of the Buccaneer Archipelago. Experience a swim in the magnificent natural harbour of Dugong Bay as well as a scenic tender excursion before visiting Talbot Bay, home of the iconic Horizontal Falls. Take an exhilarating tender ride through this spectacular natural phenomenon before taking another excursion up Cyclone Creek to view the amazing rock formations.

DAY 6 Collier Bay, Montgomery Reef & Red Cone Creek

Enjoy a morning of Barramundi fishing in Collier Bay before cruising to Montgomery Reef, Australia’s largest inshore reef. Watch the amazing waterfall effect and the reef rising out of the water as the tide falls right before your eyes. Look for the copious amounts of marine species such as sea birds and turtles. Later, enjoy an excursion to Red Cone Hill for a swim at the beautiful Ruby Falls or try mud-crabbing.

DAY 7 Doubtful Bay, Sale River & Raft Point

This morning, fish for Barramundi and Threadfin Salmon before exploring the Sale River. Take in the fascinating rock art from the tenders and then visit Steep Island. Learn about some of the best preserved rock art in the Kimberley at Raft Point and take in panoramic views of the Kimberley coastline from the top of the hill.

DAY 8 Langii, Kuri Bay & Camden Harbour

Visit the mysterious “Petrified Warriors” at Langii, a collection of sandstone pillars that portray the warriors killed in a Dreamtime battle. Pass the remote pearling settlement of Kuri Bay before stopping at Camden Harbour to visit settlers’ graves on Sheep Island. Enjoy a choice of day time activities such as fishing, collecting rock oysters or maybe just enjoy a free day relaxing on the sun deck taking in the magnificent scenery of the Kimberley.

DAY 9 Prince Regent River, King Cascade & Cathedral Falls

Enjoy an early morning cruise through St George basin and take in spectacular views of Mt Trafalgar and Mt Waterloo as you cruise up the Prince Regent River. Visit the mighty spring fed King Cascade waterfalls and marvel at rivers of water cascading down surrounded by wildlife and lush vegetation. Take a swim in a crystal clear pool above the falls and take in the breathtaking view of the Prince Regent River. Later choose between an excursion to Cathedral Falls or another day of fishing for Threadfin Salmon and huge Barramundi.

DAY 10 Careening Bay & Bigge Island

Visit one of the largest sandstone islands, Bigge Island, which is also home to extremely well preserved Wandjina and Bradshaw art before continuing your journey toward the Mitchell River.

DAY 11 Mitchell River & Surveyors Creek

Enter the assortment of islands that forms the Bonaparte Archipelago as you cruise to the Mitchell River. Have the opportunity to charter helicopter to get a spectacular aerial view of the falls. Enjoy fishing in these pristine waters or take an excursion to spot crocodiles. Later enjoy a swim in the waters of Surveyors Creek.

DAY 12 Vanisttart Bay & World War II DC3 Crash Site

Today, enjoy exploring the various coves within Vanisttart Bay. Visit sites rich in Bradshaw or Gwion Gwion Art and experience the opportunity to visit the famous WWII DC3 crash site in Vanisttart Bay.

DAY 13 Drysdale River

Today visit Drysdale River, one of the longest rivers in the Kimberley. Enjoy a guided scenic tender excursion to spot for the multitude of bird life and crocodiles that inhabit these delta islands. Later, enjoy a swim in the secluded rock pools, take a walk along a deserted beach or enjoy an afternoon of fishing.

DAY 14 Glycosmis Falls, Pangali Cove & Koolama Bay

Enjoy an early morning cruise around the most northerly point of Western Australia, Cape Londonderry. Visit Glycosmis Falls and later take in the survivors camp at Pangali Cove where you can enjoy a swim in the cool water below a waterfall. Later this afternoon, visit Koolama Bay, site of an attack on the vessel “Koolama” by the Japanese in World War II.

DAY 15 King George River

Cross the sandbars of King George River at high tide for a cruise along this cathedral like gorge. Visit the magnificent dual waterfall of King George Falls, one of Australia’s tallest waterfalls, with a vertical drop of over 80 metres. Enjoy an optional climb to the top of the falls for a breathtaking vista of the river below. Spend the night anchored just metres away from the falls.

DAY 16 Berkeley River & Cambridge Gulf

Enjoy an early morning cruise up the Berkley River, taking in the multitude of waterfalls and sandstone escarpments of the region. Enjoy a guided excursion to spot for crocodiles or enjoy a day fishing. Enjoy a refreshing swim in the freshwater pools before taking a tender excursion up the Berkley River where you have the opportunity to fish for barramundi in the rapids. Alternatively, enjoy a walk to a freshwater pool to enjoy a swim before cruising to Wyndham along the Cambridge Gulf.

DAY 17 Arrive in Wyndham

Arrive into Wyndham early this morning and get transferred to Kununurra, your home for the next two nights.

DAY 18 Explore Kununurra

Enjoy a free day to explore Kununurra at your own leisure. Maybe take a flight to the Bungle Bungles, visit the gigantic El Questro Wilderness Park or visit Lake Argyle.
