Day 1 – Fly to Alice Springs

As you arrive into the Red Centre of Australia you can still sense the strong pioneering outback spirit of Alice Springs. You will be personally met at the airport by a DISCOVER AUSTRALIA representative and transferred from the airport to your hotel. You can relax and use the rest of the day to explore your hotel and its facilities, perhaps take a stroll around the neighbourhood and central Alice Springs.

Day 2 – Alice Springs Coach Tour

Your Central Australian adventure starts off today by exploring the modern face of the historic pioneer town of Alice Springs, famous for Afghan cameleers, gold-diggers, flying doctor base, school of the air, The Ghan train, the usually dry Todd River, the Simpson Desert, 'A Town Like Alice', contemporary Aboriginal art (Todd Mall) and the Aboriginal Arrernte people who have lived here for 20,000 years.

Enjoy our 4.5 hour luxury coach tour with great informative commentary from our experienced local guide. Visit the Royal Flying Doctor Service (headquarters of the globally respected medical service providing a critical link to remote communities throughout the Northern Territory), Historic Telegraph Station (site of the first European settlement in Alice Springs, established in 1872 to relay messages between Darwin and Adelaide), School of the Air (provides education to primary school aged children living on remote properties throughout the Northern Territory since 1951), Anzac Hill (dedicated as a war memorial to honour those that fallen in Australian's wars) and Alice Springs Reptile Centre (amazing NT animals like, saltwater crocodiles, huge goannas, frill-neck lizards and Gecko Cave). You will also get a great orientation of thriving Alice Springs, touring through the town and seeing the other main attractions such as the Cultural Precinct, National Pioneer Women's Hall of Fame, Road Transport Hall of Fame, Old Ghan Train Museum, Olive Pink Botanic Gardens and Todd Mall.

Day 3 – Explore Alice Springs

The iconic town of Alice Springs in Australia's Red Centre is home to a proud pioneer history, a frontier town surrounded by vast swathes of ochre desert, this cosmopolitan town has a vibrant arts scene and a rich Aboriginal culture, shop at Alice Springs Street Markets, visit the historic Telegraph Station and see the diverse plant collections at Olive Pink Botanic Gardens.

Day 4 – Alice Springs to Ayers Rock

World Heritage listed Uluru is an incredible sandstone rock formation and is one of Australia's most iconic landmarks, set in the vast Red Centre this ancient monolith is immersed in Aboriginal culture and history and is truly an unforgettable sight, the changing colours of the rock throughout the day add to the mystical aura of this impressive natural phenomenon.

Stop at a camel farm on your journey south from Alice Springs and view Atila (Mt. Conner), before your drive around the base of Uluru. Explore the Mutijulu Waterhole, view ancient rock art and visit the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre, then reach the Uluru sunset viewing area. Enjoy nibbles and sparkling wine as you take in the striking colour changes of Uluru at sunset.

Day 5 – Ayers Rock & Kata Tjuta

The ochre sandstone domes that make up Kata Tjuta are an incredible sight and many visitors find them even more enchanting and captivating than the better known Uluru, at sunrise and sunset these domes take on a magical appearance as they change to deep red hues, viewing areas offer sensational panoramic views of the domes and surrounding area.

Experience the sunrise at Uluru from the viewing platform and take advantage of some ideal photo opportunities. Later, discover Kata Tjuta and explore the domes at Walpa Gorge.

Day 6 – Ayers Rock

Lying some 335 km southwest of Alice Springs in Australia's vast Red Centre, Uluru is a majestic ochre monolith and is one of Australia's best known and most iconic natural landmarks, standing some 348 metres high Uluru is steeped in Aboriginal culture and tradition, at sunrise and sunset the light changes Uluru's colour giving it a mystical, magical appearance.

Spend today exploring Ayers Rock Resort at your own pace. Make use of the resort facilities before returning to your accommodation for the night.

Day 7 – Fly Home from Ayers Rock

Time to say goodbye to the iconic Ayers Rock, your fellow travellers and friendly hotel hosts. You will be transferred from your Ayers Rock hotel to Ayers Rock airport for your flight home.
