Day 1 Fly to Broome

Broome is the western gateway to the spectacular Kimberley region. This historic pearling town sits on the western edge of the vast and remote Kimberley region and is the largest town in Australia's ruggedly beautiful north west. Broome exudes a laid back ambiance, an outback oasis with white sand beaches, sensational Cable Beach and shimmering turquoise waters which contrast vividly with the red ochre pindan earth.

You will be personally met at the airport by a DISCOVER AUSTRALIA representative and transferred from the airport to your hotel. You can relax and use the rest of the day to explore your hotel and its facilities. Enjoy a leisurely evening to spend your own way.

Day 2 Broome Town Tour

The perfect introduction to Broome, your half day tour of the township will take you to all of the major attractions and landmarks, including ancient rocky outcrops and the spectacular coastline. Hear about Broome’s heritage and how it shaped the town. Visit Chinatown, the Japanese Cemetery, Gantheaume Point and Cable Beach.

At the end of the tour, enjoy a Pearling Master’s high tea and a Pearl Luggers Tour. Combining the historical and cultural influences of Broome, you’ll enjoy tea, coffee or a glass of sparkling wine on arrival followed by sweet and savoury treats.

Day 3 Cable Beach Camel Ride

Broome is a vibrant and cosmopolitan town with a proud pearling history, the town is blessed with a fantastic climate and an abundance of stunning natural beauty, a visit to the Japanese Cemetery where perished Japanese pearl divers are interred brings home the human cost of Broome's colourful pearling history, other attractions include Cable Beach, Matso's Brewery and bustling Chinatown.

Enjoy a day in Broome at your leisure to explore at your own pace before your spectacular Cable Beach Camel Ride at sunset.

Day 4 Board the Silver Explorer

The remote and beautiful Kimberley coast offers some of the most impressive views Australia has to offer, the majestic King George Falls, the world famous Horizontal Falls, remarkable Montgomery Reef and vast open bays stretching as far as the eye can see, marvel at dramatic outback landscapes that are steeped in ancient Aboriginal legend.

Today you will be personally met at your hotel by a DISCOVER AUSTRALIA representative and transferred to Broome Wharf to begin your cruise. Board the ultra-luxurious Silver Explorer and set off for your romantic adventure along the remarkable Kimberley coastline. Day 5 Kimberley Coast & Buccaneer Archipelago

The remote and incredible Buccaneer Archipelago is a pristine wonderland of low lying reefs and rugged islands surrounded by stunning turquoise waters. The remote Archipelago is made up of more than 1000 islands, glorious white sand beaches, lush rainforest and fringing mangroves characterise the land and seascape. The region is mostly uninhabited, but this ancient land has long been home to Aboriginal people and their colourful rock art can be found on many of the islands and the mainland.

Day 6 Horizontal Falls

Situated in the Talbot Bay region of the Buccaneer Archipelago, the Horizontal Falls are one of the greatest natural wonders of the world. Huge 12 metre tidal movements create a waterfall effect as they're forced through narrow cliff passages demonstrating the immense power of the Kimberley tides and a spectacular show of the beauty of nature.

Experience an exhilarating Zodiac ride through this spectacular natural phenomenon and witness reefs and islands rise out of the ocean, only to have them disappear as the tide rises.

Day 7 Hunter River Region

Hunter River lies in the Kimberley region of WA and flows into the picturesque Prince Frederick Harbour and York Sound, the river's mouth is home to dramatic and rugged rock formations which reach some 200m in height, the scenery here is spectacular, the riverbanks lined with verdant rainforest, towering ochre cliffs and mangroves.

Explore the narrow mangrove channels of the Hunter River looking out for numerous species of birds and saltwater crocodiles.

Day 8 Hunter River Region - Mitchell Falls

The 30km long Hunter River Region is a spectacular network of draining streams, with the truest of turquoise waterways lined with dense mangrove forests. Spend a second exciting day navigating this pristine wilderness, venturing further up the Hunter River and the adjoining Porosus River in the Zodiacs.

For those seeking to tick Mitchell Falls off their bucket list, opt for an exhilarating helicopter flight to see this magnificent natural phenomenon up close (additional expense). Take off on an adventure of a lifetime on a 50 minute helicopter flight and land at the top of the falls. Enjoy a swim from this amazing vantage point, a once in a lifetime experience.

Day 9 King George River

King George Sound is one of Western Australia's most resplendent natural harbours, lying on the south coast the sound is an inlet of the Indian Ocean and covers an area of 91 square km, this spectacular bay is home to sandy beaches and towering cliffs, a popular dive location due to several wrecks which lie there it also offers fantastic fishing opportunities.

Drop anchor at the mouth of the King George River and Zodiac up to the King George Falls and cruise close to the base of the falls. This magnificent dual waterfall one of Australia’s tallest waterfalls, with a vertical drop of over 80 metres.

Day 10 Wyndham, Kununurra and the Bungle Bungles

Cruise into the Cambridge Gulf, stopping at the outback town of Wyndham, the gateway to the World Heritage listed Bungle Bungles in the Purnululu National Park. The Bungle Bungles are some of the most impressive geological features in Western Australia, viewed from the air they're an imposing and majestic sight, their beauty, size, colours and unique formations can only be truly appreciated from the air providing a thrilling and unforgettable experience.
  
Docking in Wyndham, travel inland to Kununurra, located on the banks of the mighty Ord River and the centre for the Ord River Irrigation Scheme. Choose between a thrilling scenic flight over the Bungle Bungles or a relaxing cruise up the winding Ord River.

Day 11 Cruise the Timor Sea

Day 12 Matakus Island (Indonesia)

Today, we experience a port of call in Indonesia’s remote and untamed east, Matakus Island. A pristine and unexplored island paradise not often visited by tourists. Located in the Tanimbar Archipelago, Matakus Island is only 3.5 kms long and 1.5 kms wide, it is the perfect haven for adventure and relaxation. There are no shops or tourist attractions here, just the local fishing community, sandy white beaches and perhaps a freshly caught seafood lunch.
  
Spend the morning snorkeling the crystal-clear waters, see the fields of staghorn coral and schools of Cardinal fish, or stroll around the island and see if you can spot the unique birdlife that call Matakus Island home – be sure to take your camera with you!

Day 13 Cruise the Arafura Sea

Enjoy a day of cruising the Timor Sea. Make the most of your time relaxing on this ultra-luxurious small expedition ship. Perhaps attend more lectures, relax by the pool or learn about the natural history, wildlife and human history of the area from the on board Expedition Team. Enjoy wine tastings, designer boutiques, language and dance classes while on board or take in a matinee movie.

Day 14 Arrive in Darwin

Disembarking the Silver Explorer in Darwin, you can sense the cosmopolitan and thriving atmosphere of this historic tropical North Australian city. You can relax and use the rest of the day to explore your hotel and its facilities, perhaps take a stroll around the neighbourhood and central Darwin.

Day 15 Darwin Tour, Sunset Cruise & Special Dinner

Your tour today includes: see Smith Street Mall, Mitchell Street (restaurants and cafes), St Mary's Cathedral, Cavanagh Street (old China Town), Chinese Temple, Stokes Hill, Fort Hill Wharf, Trendy Darwin Wharf precinct on the harbor, World War II oil storage tunnel, Christ Church Cathedral, Supreme Court of the Northern Territory, Government House, Parliament House, Bicentennial Park, The Esplanade, Casino Mindil Beach (Darwin's famous market is located here). Located on a massive and spectacular harbour on the Timor Sea, Darwin’s population is a melting-pot of cultures from more than 50 countries, who pride themselves on their unique and friendly laid-back lifestyle. Darwin has year round balmy weather and is surrounded by the iconic Kakadu National Park and Litchfield National Park. There is plenty to see and do in the magnificent and vibrant Top End.
