DAY 1 Welcome to Airlie Beach & The Whitsundays

Feel the warmth of the balmy tropics and admire the distinct lighting of the Whitsundays region as you arrive into Airlie Beach. You will be transferred from the airport to your hotel. You can relax and use the rest of the day to explore your hotel and its facilities, perhaps take a stroll around the neighbourhood and central Airlie Beach.

Arrival Transfer, Overnight Accommodation.

DAY 2 Outer Great Barrier Reef Cruise

Board your high speed catamaran at Airlie Beach this morning and cruise past the magnificent Whitsunday Islands towards the Outer Great Barrier Reef. Your vessel features spacious air-conditioned lounges, large outdoor viewing decks as well as bars offering refreshments and comfortable seating. You may even spot whales on your journey to the Great Barrier Reef during the months of July to September!

Once at the reef, disembark the vessel and board the state of the art interactive pontoon which offers a multitude of facilities and included experiences. You may choose to go snorkelling straight off the pontoon, enjoy presentations by on board reef experts, or if you do not wish to get in the water, you can enjoy viewing the Reef from the semi - submersible underwater viewing chamber. For something more relaxed, you can choose to top up your tan on the Sun Deck.

There are also a host of optional activities that you can take part in such as SCUBA diving, helicopter flights over the Reef, guided snorkelling tours or even a massage!

All these activities are sure to make you hungry. Enjoy included morning and afternoon teas as well a sumptuous buffet lunch featuring local seasonal produce. Enjoy free tea and coffee, or visit the fully stocked bar for a range of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages. 

After a full day on the Reef, cruise back to Airlie Beach for the night.

DAY 3 Proserpine, Eco Crocodile Safari & River Cruise

The Proserpine River wetland eco environment sustains a massive array of native wildlife including saltwater crocodiles, wallabies, birds, insects, mangroves ecosystem and a melaleuca forest. See Proserpine township. Cruise down the calm river waters onboard this all-weather vessel, seeing the prolific wildlife residents of the mangrove habitat, including crocodile spotting and mud crab capture. Enjoy a delicious barbecue lunch at the safari campsite. Board an open-air, tractor-drawn wagon-train travelling through wetlands, seasonal waterholes and a melaleuca forest. Billy tea and damper, cooked on site, will finish off this incredible eco tour.

Today we leave Airlie Beach on-board a coach tour passing the magnificent azure waters of the Whitsunday Passage to Proserpine township and to the estuarine waters of the Proserpine River system. Experience an educational eco cruise on the Proserpine River while seated in complete safety and comfort, see wild saltwater crocodiles as you cruise (estuarine or saltwater crocodiles are the most dangerous, around 150 "salties" inhabit this area), be fascinated by some of the characters you meet and their unique behaviours and investigate the marine mangrove ecosystem. Our guides catch the famous Queensland mud crab and provide an entertaining insight into their features and fascinating life-cycle, before releasing the crabs back into Proserpine River. Learn about the history of damper and billy-tea as our guides prepare them fresh for morning tea. Discover the secrets of the recipes and just how good they taste as you sample some traditional "bush tucker". See the land as Captain Cook saw it on the open-air tractor-drawn wagon-train through Goorganga wetlands. Marvel at the many species of flora and fauna and experience unique Australian habitats including melaleuca forests, pastures, marine mangroves and saltpans which fringe the Proserpine River. Your delicious BBQ and seafood lunch is freshly prepared onsite while you relax in comfort at the covered and well equipped campsite. The expert commentary delivered by our friendly guides during the day will help you to gain a deeper appreciation of our unique nature and our remarkable country.

DAY 4 Hamilton Island & Whitehaven Beach

Hamilton Island is a famous playground of the wealthy. It's a sliver of luxurious paradise, with its beautiful beaches, endless blue skies, azure ocean, yacht marina and world-class facilities. It is a destination par excellence. The island caters for many tastes with its regular food and wine festivals, luxurious spa treatments, sailing regattas and whale watching expeditions. Divers flock for the vibrant technicolour coral formations, dancing reef-fish and loggerhead turtles. Enjoy the indulgent resort facilities as a guest, and discover exciting and enthralling experiences amongst beautiful and exotic surroundings.
  
Whitehaven Beach is undoubtedly one of the world's best beaches. Its pristine white sand and crystal clear waters stretch majestically over 7km along the breathtakingly beautiful Whitsunday Island. Hill Inlet is a sensational cove where the changing tides swirl the white silica sands and the turquoise and green waters into exquisite patterns of dazzling colour and beauty. Incredible views that will remain in your memory forever. An assault on the senses, a photographer's dream.

Today you will enjoy two of the Whitsundays' most famous icons in the same day, including a spectacular island hopping cruise, full use of Hamilton Island Resort pool and beach areas, Hamilton Island Hop-On Hop-Off Tour, Special Lunch at Hamilton Island and around 2 hours at Whitehaven Beach. Lying right at the heart of the amazing Great Barrier Reef, the 74 picture-postcard tropical islands that make up the Whitsundays are a little slice of paradise on earth. You'll be bedazzled by the sheer natural beauty and enchanted by the tranquil, serene ambience that abounds here. You will be forgiven for thinking that the incredible cruise through the 74 islands is the highlight of the day, but your day has only just begun. At Hamilton Island the Hop-On Hop-Off Tour will give you a great understanding of the island. 

The tour circuits the island all day stopping at key attractions, scenic points and resorts. So hop on and off as you please. There is a generous choice of swimming pools, including the main pool with its swim-up bar, or explore the long sandy curve of Catseye Beach for seaside relaxation. Wander the waterfront of Hamilton Island's famous Front Street and Marina Village taking in the sights, visiting the galleries or doing some shopping. Today your Special Lunch is at this world famous marina with its remarkable views across the Whitsundays. Your island hopping cruise continues around Whitsunday Island National Park and between other islands with your friendly skipper providing an informative commentary on the history and natural wonders. Stop at Whitehaven Beach for almost 2 hours. Sink your toes into the fine white silica sands of Whitehaven Beach and enjoy the warm crystal clear waters. This is Mother Nature at her best. Sit back, breathe in the fresh sea air and marvel at the island wonders of the Whitsundays.

DAY 5 Explore Airlie Beach

Airlie Beach is picture-postcard-perfect with its backdrop of gently sloping verdant hills and waterfront setting. It feels as tropical as staying on an island, but with the added conveniences of a modern mainland township. This compact regional centre is easy to explore. The fabulous man-made lagoon with its turquoise waters, is the ideal place to take a refreshing swim to escape the warmth of the sun's golden rays. Unspoilt and secluded beaches will transport you to your very own role in 'Castaway'. The main gateway to the spectacular Whitsunday Islands has plenty of boutique shops, galleries, cafes, restaurants and bars making for a vibrant place to explore.

Today you are free to discover Airlie Beach at your own pace. See all of the local attractions or simply enjoy the relaxing facilities of your resort hotel. Airlie Beach is the tourism hub of the Whitsundays region. Time will fly as you stroll up and down the main street and explore the Esplanade. The Airlie Beach Lagoon is set right in the centre of town, and features a beautiful swimming lagoon surrounded by parkland and overlooks the magnificent Coral Sea. Airlie Beach is also home to 2 beautiful ocean beaches. There is a great range of boutique shopping, you can buy anything from swimwear and casual beachwear to party frocks and Whitsundays branded goods. Airlie Beach is nestled in the Conway National Park, and it's easy to experience the natural beauty on a range of walking trails. A boardwalk, hugged by the turquoise waters of the Coral Sea, winds its way from Airlie Beach to Abell Point Marina and ends in Cannonvale Beach. Perhaps pamper yourself in one of Airlie's Day Spas.
